CTCleanEnergyOptions lets you support the production of more clean energy through a small additional charge on your electric bill. This program is completely voluntary and is approved by the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA).
CTCleanEnergyOptions vendors do not provide generation services. Instead, they purchase renewable energy credits to match the amount of electricity used by participating customers. This supports existing clean resources and encourages construction of additional renewable generation. So you must still choose an electric supplier or remain with CL&P or UI for the generation portion of your bill.

It's important to know whether you stay with CL&P or UI or choose an electric supplier that everyone can participate in the CTCleanOptions Program. All billing is done by CL&P and UI, so you still receive one electric bill.
