In a multi-family facility, an individual household’s energy consumption is impacted by the entire building. Poor insulation in an upper unit will affect the energy usage of the unit below. Ductwork, pipe and cable chases, gaps, cracks, etc., often run throughout the entire building. The most effective way to improve energy efficiency is to address the building as a whole. The Multi Family initiative gives the owners and managers of these buildings access to multiple energy efficiency programs offered through the Energy Efficiency Fund.
