The Connecticut Housing Investment Fund, Inc. (CHIF) offers a Residential Energy Efficiency Financing program. This program is supported by the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund in partnership with The Connecticut Light and Power Company, The United Illuminating Company, Yankee Gas, Southern Connecticut Gas, and Connecticut Natural Gas. The program provides Connecticut residents with financial assistance for energy efficient home improvements and convenient on-the-bill repayment.
To apply for this financing program, you must have a Home Energy Solutions (HES) energy assessment conducted at your home. The HES program, supported by the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, provides you with an energy assessment performed by a utility-authorized contractor.
The contractor will make on-the-spot improvements, including caulking and sealing of critical air leaks and will provide money-saving rebates for additional improvements and recommendations about the steps you can take to improve the efficiency of your home.
